Tamás Veress
During my life encounters, farewells, searching for places and arrivals create tension in me. Being a sensitive creating person, these are embodied in the form of poems, images and compositions inside. When expulsive contractions begin, I must give birth to them, cannot do otherwise.
Whether as verse lines, pencil drawings or in the form of sculpture poems, they request a place in the sun.
From time to time I must also show them to the world, this is how I can add to, contribute to the great whole.
I was born on 24 December in 1967 in Budapest.
My parents: Gizella Opra fashion designer and Miklós Veress ceramic artist
I pursued my secondary school studies at Kaffka Margit Grammar School.
My masters at the time were Gitta Rózsavölgyiné Tomonyák and Ernő Fischer, and Béla Kondor’s works and Lajos Szalay’s pencil drawings had the greatest impact on me.
Between 1986 and 1987 I worked in Pannónia Film Studio as a drawer.
I studied at the University College of Hungarian Applied Arts (MOME) from 1988 to 1992, my
masters were József Baska, György Pálfi, Gyula Molnár and Péter Virágvölgyi.
In 1992 I obtained a college degree in Applied Graphics – Typography.
I worked as an art director for Lintas Budapest Advertising Agency between 1992 and 1994.
